At The Cannaisseur, cannabis flower is the heart of the shop: dozens of strains, weights from single grams to full ounces, and a team that helps you find the one that fits what you're after.

We're not interested in handing you a jar and pointing you toward the door. Our cannabis consultants ask what you're looking for, whether that's something to unwind with after a shift, something social for a night out, or your first flower purchase ever, and walk you through it like you'd want a knowledgeable friend to. Budget-friendly eighths sit right next to top-shelf jars here, because everyone in this neighborhood deserves a good experience, no matter what they're spending.

Why Choose Flower?

Flower is simply dried cannabis bud, ground or whole, that's smoked or vaporized. It's the original form of cannabis and still the go-to for people who want flexibility and control over their experience.

Full strain variety: indica, sativa, and hybrid options across dozens of genetics
True terpene flavor: nothing added or extracted, just the plant's natural aroma and taste
Flexible use: smoke it, roll it, or pack it into a vape or dab rig
Buy exactly what you need: from a single gram to a full ounce
Fast, familiar experience: no learning curve if you've ever smoked before
Transparent lab results: every batch tested before it hits our shelf

Types of Flower We Carry

The Cannaisseur's flower selection goes beyond standard eighths. Here's what you'll find on the menu.

Classic Flower

This is the traditional, whole-bud flower most people picture when they think of cannabis, sold loose or in jars. It's the largest section of our menu by far, with strains from craft growers and well-known multi-state brands stocked side by side. Whether you want something bright and citrusy or deep and earthy, this is where to start.

Pre-Packed Flower

Pre-packed flower comes sealed straight from the brand in its original jar or bag, so you know exactly what you're getting before you even open it. It's a great option if you like grabbing a trusted brand and going, without needing a consultation every visit.

Flower Shake

Shake is the smaller, looser bud and trim left over from packaging premium flower, sold at a lower price point without sacrificing potency. It's a smart pick if you roll your own or pack a bowl regularly and want your dollar to stretch further.

Infused Flower

Infused flower is regular bud that's been coated or dipped, often in concentrate or kief, for a noticeably stronger effect than standard flower alone. It's built for more experienced flower shoppers looking for extra intensity.

Top Brands We Carry

Wood River shoppers looking for cannabis flower will find a genuinely wide range on our shelves, from small-batch craft growers to well-known national names. A few customer favorites:

Cresco. A longtime Illinois name known for consistency and clean, well-cured jars
Kaviar. Exotic craft flower and moonrocks for shoppers who want something top-shelf
Verano Reserve. Polished, potent flower from one of the region's most established growers
Nature's Heritage. Dependable hybrid strains at a price that doesn't punish you for buying more
Rythm. A broad lineup spanning mini buds to premium jars, popular with regulars
(the) Essence. Small-batch drops with striking packaging and standout THCa numbers

How to Choose the Right Flower

Start with Your Goals

Think about what you're planning to do before you shop. Some strains are better suited for winding down on the couch, while others pair well with a night out or an active morning. Tell our consultants what you have planned and they'll help you find the right match.

Potency & Tolerance

If you're newer to flower, start low and go slow. Look for strains in the 18–24% THCa range and take it slow the first time; even experienced consumers pace themselves with a new strain. Our team can flag beginner-friendly options versus the heavier-hitting jars.

Flavor & Format

Terpenes drive both a strain's flavor and feel. Citrusy, limonene-forward strains taste bright and zesty, while myrcene-heavy strains tend to be earthier and more mellow. If you're not sure what you like yet, ask to smell a few jars before you buy.

Budget-Friendly Ways to Shop

Flower shake and pre-packed jars are typically the most wallet-friendly way to buy, while whole-bud eighths and quarters from craft brands sit at the premium end. We also run daily deals and promotions on flower throughout the week, so it's worth checking the deals page before you check out.

Why Buy Flower from The Cannaisseur?

Curated, not overstocked. We stock a thoughtful range of proven brands and craft growers, not every product on the market, so what's on the shelf is worth your time.

Every batch is lab-tested. THCa, terpene profiles, and compliance testing are available on every product before it's sold.

Real guidance, every visit. Our consultants take the time to ask what you're looking for instead of just ringing you up.

Deals that actually add up. Flower discounts run regularly across the menu, including daily deals from our favorite brands.

One stop for Wood River and the Metro East. We're located right in downtown Wood River and welcome both Illinois and Missouri residents (purchase limits differ by residency).

The Cannaisseur is Wood River's dedicated destination for cannabis flower, with a curated menu spanning craft growers and established brands plus a team trained to match you with the right strain. What are the best flower brands available in Wood River?

Popular picks at The Cannaisseur include Cresco, Kaviar, Verano Reserve, Nature's Heritage, and Rythm, alongside smaller craft names like (the) Essence and Savage Squad Strains. Customers gravitate toward these for consistent quality, strong terpene flavor, and reliable potency batch after batch.

Does The Cannaisseur Wood River offer CBD options in flower?

Does The Cannaisseur Wood River carry medical and recreational cannabis?

The Cannaisseur operates as an adult-use (recreational) dispensary, so Illinois residents 21 and older don't need a medical card. If you are a qualified Illinois medical cannabis patient, different purchase limits may apply, so let our team know when you arrive.

How long do the effects of flower last?

Smoked or vaporized flower is typically felt within minutes and tends to taper off over one to three hours, making it easy to gauge and adjust as you go. That fast onset is part of why flower remains a go-to format for both new and experienced consumers.

What effects do flower products have?

Many customers choose flower for relaxation, focus, social ease, or simply winding down after a long day, and the experience can vary by strain and terpene profile. Our team can help match a strain to the feeling you're after based on what's currently in stock.
